International Conference of the Hungarian Dental Association- Perspecives in Perio-Implantology and Comprehensive Dentistry (SymposiumSzeged)
9-11 May, 2019
As in the previous years, the Hungarian Dental Association organized the Scientific Meeting entitled Perspectives in Perio-Impantology and Comprehensive Dentistry in Szeged on 9-11 May this year. The meeting attracted nearly 1000 from Hungary and, with a scientific program involving twelve renowned plenary invited speakers from nineteen countries in Europe and overseas as well.
In 2019 we opened our perspectives to include South American and Asian speakers, we are pleased to have had a Chinese speaker, two Brazilian and one Mexican plenary lecturer.
Preceding the conference, on 9 May we organized two special events: a training for dental hygienists and a hands-on course, both fully booked. The wonderful Trisha O’Hehir, dental hygienist educator, researcher and university founder gave a series of lectures to the first ever dental hygienist in Hungary about the past, present and future of this new profession.
Massimo DeSanctis and Sofia Aroca facilitated a hands-on course on state-of the art methods in recession coverage, which was so popular that we needed extra chairs for the dentists on the waiting list.
Our festive gala dinner was fully booked, on May 10 modern-style Hungi Vigadó hosted our event with fine food and excellent moods.
We are grateful to the representatives of the Mexican and Brazilian embassies for having given us the honor of greeting our guests on the evening of our gala dinner. Rafael Ferreira Luz, first secretary at the Embassy of Brazil in Hungary and David Nájera Rivas, ambassador of Mexico in Hungary were kind enough to open our gala dinner.
The conference provided excellent grounds for meeting professionals from around Europe and overseas, as well as taking a look at products and services offered by the 45 exhibitors.

We hope that this year’s successful event will attract similarly high numbers of registered participants next May, so keep yourselves posted about our Symposium and save the date 7-9 May 2020!
